DAM & Google SEO
While many of our customers Honeycomb Archive systems are setup to tightly control access, one of our large consumer product manufacturers has opened up their system to allow any website visitor to view their products. To them they see an opportunity to create a brand impression anytime their product can be surfaced on the web. Since their system contains thousands of product photos, they see each of these as an opportunity to make a brand impression as internet users go to Google and search for images that are related to their products.
To optimize the contents of their Honeycomb Archive system for Search Engine optimization, Honeycomb Archive can be configured with a public Google site map which is then submitted to Google. This public view of the digital asset management system has unique pages for each image in the system and incorporates the caption, keywords, description and other meta data in an SEO optimized format. As a user finds this image on the web and comes to this page, they can download the file directly or click a link that brings them into the digital asset management system at the exact spot where that file is found.
